If you want to see the old interior of Alabang Twin Cinema or ATC (now known as Alabang Town Center), there is a short scene in the film, “Nakagapos na Puso” (1986) that shows this. The film starred Sharon Cuneta, Lorna Tolentino, Edu Manzano, Tonton Gutierrez, Sandy Andolong and 2 introducing actresses: Dawn Zulueta & Vina Morales. It’s in 1hr: 6min of the film.
ATC used to be only a cinema (with 2 theaters), not a mall yet. When the area was demolished for a bigger structure, it closed for about 9 months for construction/renovation in 1998-99.
The new ATC cinema then (outside the building of ATC and outside the 5 theaters) was designed by artist Robert Alejandro, one of the siblings who owned Papemelroti, a gift shop (where “RO” stands for his name, Robert). He worked for GMA documentaries before as a reporter/broadcast journalist.
The old pencil drawings of Robert on the wall & ceiling of ATC Cinema was the same style he drew on the walls of their now-defunct family business, The Filipino Bookstore. This bookstore used to be at ATC mall & at Taft Avenue Manila, just across De La Salle University.
