Recital of Tanghalang Pilipino’s Summer Theater Workshop 2012 (May 4 & 6, 2012)

Tanghalang Pilipino (TP), the resident theater company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) presents the culminating activity of its regular Summer Theater Adventure, a three-week program of various theatrical activities for different age levels designed to develop, hone and explore the dramatic skills and talents of aspiring theater artists. 

This year, TP is proud to present the participants of the Children’s Theater, Musical Theater for Teens and Beginning Acting workshops. Shows will be held at Tanghalang Huseng Batute of the Cultural Center of the Philippines on May 4 & 6, 2012. 

On Friday, May 4, 2012, the participants of Musical Teen Theater will present “Dulaang 3 in 1,” a three part showcase featuring three different plays entitled “Prinsipe ng Buwan,” “Pasaporte,” and “Panaginip” as their recital pieces to be directed by their facilitators Mcdonell Bolaños and Mia Bolaños.

On May 6, 2012, at 3:00 pm, kids as young as 3 ½ to 12 years old will make their parents proud on this special occasion. The participants of the Creative Dramatics for Children 1 and 2 will show us what they’ve learned during their workshop. Joining in the plays entitled “E-Rangers” and “Inside the Box”, they will share to the audience the fun they had while discovering the world of theater. These two productions will be directed by Jonathan Tadioan and Riki Benedicto,  with their assistant facilitators Martha Nikko Comia and Marco Luis E. Viaña. 

The Beginning Acting Classes will each showcase the acting calibre of their students. Among the presentations are the five classic plays: Salitang Dila, Paraisong Parisukat, Insiang, Nazarena and Kabanata X. The performance will be shown on May 4, 2012 at 8:00 pm, directed by Paolo Rodriguez. 

For the next batch, “May Isang Alamat,” will be presented on May 6, 2012 at 8:00 pm, directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio. 

All the performances will be handled by Stage Managers from this year's participants of Stage and Production Management facilitated by Mr. Ed Murillo.
