This year’s Tulaan sa Facebook celebrates Rizal’s 150 years.
Together with the Goethe-Institut Philippines, or the German Cultural Center, the Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika at Arte (LIRA) will again be launching the poetry contest using facebook as a medium. Titled Rizalstrasse, or Rizal Street in English, Tulaan sa Facebook 2011 will center on Rizal’s work such as A las flores de Heidelberg, Noli me tangere, and his other experiences in Germany.
Everybody is invited to submit their works in the form of a Diona, a short native Filipino poetry form that has only 3 lines, with each line having 7 syllables following a single rhyme.
As entries, the poems will be posted on the wall page of Rizalstrasse: Tulaan sa Facebook 2011. Deadline for the contest is on October 31, 2011. Winners will be announced on November 16 at the Conspiracy bar in Quezon City during LIRA’s monthly poetry night.
Prizes:
1st Prize: 3,000 plus one free German language course
2nd prize: 2,000 plus one free German language course
3rd prize: 1,000 plus one free German language course
The free German language lessons will be provided by the Goethe-Institut.
