Jose Rizal celebrates 150th Birthday on June 19 at Fort Santiago

Jose Rizal invites everyone to celebrate his birthday on June 19, 2011 at Fort Santiago grounds in Intramuros, Manila at 6 to 10 pm.

Activities include:

• Fireworks.
• Kalesa rides.
• On-the-spot portrait drawing.
• Live music from Banda ng Maynila (Brass band of the City of Manila), Ateneo Chamber Singers, Tess Salientes (the sister of Michael Salientes) and Gerard Salonga.
• Take your photo wearing period costumes from Camp Suki.
• Film Showing of Gerardo de Leon's 1961 classic Noli Me Tangere.
• Reenactment of Rizal's execution from Luneta to Fort Santiago by Sipat Lawin Ensemble.
• Rizal and Josephine Bracken play at Heroes Square.
• Purchase Rizal themed food c/o Ilustrado, & Adarna Food and Culture.
• Rizal Memorabilia exhibit at Plaza Armas.

Ticket prices are P100 per adult and P50 for kids below 12. Entrance is free for guests who will come in period costumes and/or dress as their favorite Noli or Fili characters.
