The Harshlands from which sculptor Stephanie Ann Lopez summoned up her recent works in concrete, synthetics, metal, glass and found objects,  recreate a substratum of the artist’s personal world, past and present.

The harsh land where human incongruities manifest, hitherto revealed through its inhabitants are met with emblems of retort, no less forbidding.

Likewise, confronted by its recipient personas, they are temporarily detached from the province of myth and fairytale - to participate as dramatis personae to the staging of a play in one part.

Harshlands will be on exhibit from September 23 and will run until October 11, 2010.
