National Book Store brings to the Philippines the legendary Moleskine notebook which is
the same one used by artists and thinkers for over two centuries, such as
Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway and Bruce Chatwin.
The
launch of the My Moleskine Exhibition and the Open Call Art Competition happened on October 23, 2009 at National Bookstore Glorietta 5 in Makati City. The
event was hosted by Tessa Prieto-Valdez and Tim Yap.
MY
MOLESKINE EXHIBITION
For
the first time ever, Moleskine and National Book Store are bringing the My
Moleskine exhibition to Manila. I was flabbergasted to see the works of various
artists from across Asia. It's amazing to see the different ways to put art
on/in a notebook, like youngsters do their design in preparing their slumbooks.
Artist: Arnel Agawin (Philippines)
This
exhibit showcases the great diversity of talents, creativity and innovation of
contemporary artists based in Asia.
For this vibrant exhibition, artists will disclose their work in
progress, to give the audience an insight of the journey into their creative
process.
Presented
are the works of 34 artists from the fields of design, photography, painting
and music who use the Moleskine notebook as their unconventional canvas to freely express
and showcase their artistic inspiration and to share a more intimate side
of their work. The unique interactive
exhibit allows the audience to peruse the notebooks and to experience them at
their own pace as they flip through the pages.
