QC@70, a month-long celebration of the seven-decade founding of Quezon City, announces three arts competitions— namely “Songs Beyond,” “Sining Biswal” and “Seeing Beauty.”
“Songs Beyond” seeks to discover and promote talented singers and musical composers. Singers and composers are given the opportunity to showcase their world-class singing prowess and genius in musical composition. Three finalists will be selected from each district of QC while 22 finalists will be chosen as contenders of the musical composition category.
“Sining Biswal” invites all amateur visual artists to put their creativity on the palette and render on canvas their vision of a “future perfect” Quezon City. Visual artists who are interested to join must have not made a solo exhibit and must be 16 years old and above.
“Seeing Beauty” is a photography contest that seeks the best photographs of amateur and professional photographers, who have captured, either in black and white, sepia tone or full color images of significant and historical landmarks, structures, installations or subjects that can be found all over QC.
Deadline for submission of entries for the three competitions is on Sept. 25, 2009.
QC@70 is a project spearheaded by the Office of Mayor Sonny Belmonte.
