Smart & Nokia: N96 Launch Party

I was surprised to receive an invitation from Smart thru text. This was the Launch Party of Smart & Nokia's N96 phone held at Silver City, Pasig City on October 27, 2008. Who would resist such an invitation eventhough the venue is too far from my area? I was not even familiar with the place. I would always get lost in places like this. But I was curious of what the event could offer me.

I invited my friend Richard so we tried to locate the party place. True enough, we found it. Smart & Nokia N96 Launch was the biggest party I attended, or so I thought. The party was overflowing with food served on a huge, circular aluminum tray by waiters - calamares, kebab barbecue, fish fillet, bread with ham & pineapple, and my favorite - baked tahong! There were also juices, softdrinks and Infinit' (the new soda with a twist of little alcohol made by Ginebra San Miguel) to quench our thirst.

This event also relaunched the Smart MyTV feature. The fashion show was a feast for the eyes. All ramp models flaunted their black suit as they displayed their N96 phones. Macky, a friend from church, was one of them. Some models also served as ushers & usherettes. Nokia & Smart gave out 50 phones - N96, N85 & N79 - through a raffle. The party was attended by approximately a thousand people and only 50 hopefuls were lucky to have brought home an N-series phone. The techno dance music & laser lights and everything in between was totally magnficent! The sad part is - there were not much giveaways. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the party. I hope that there's another party like this one next time.
